Vision Boards Help You Achieve More

Did you know?  Before Jim Carrey became a famous actor and comedian, he used a personally written, fake $10 million dollar check as a visualization technique to daydream about making it big in Hollywood.

A vision board is an area that contains a collection of pictures or images that represent an idea, an end result, and an accomplishment for the creator of the vision board.  On vision boards people put pictures of the things in life that they would like to get or achieve, such as a new house, a new girlfriend, a new car, a healthy body, a high paying job, etc. Pictures from magazines, books, computer printouts, and so forth are pinned up on a cork board, or something similar, and placed in an area where it can be seen throughout the day. There is no limit as to what can be put on a vision board. An individual can put things on there that they can’t afford today, as they know it will be a motivator to strive for earning more money. That way they can buy the new things they like. The purpose of the vision board is to allow the mind to day dream about having new things in this present moment.  Studies have shown that day dreaming causes the mind to create solutions to accomplish and obtain the actual day dream.

2)      What did Jenny McCarthy’s vision board look like?  What was she hoping to accomplish?

3)      What items are needed to create a vision board?

Application:

1)      Create a vision board that includes pictures of things that you would like to have in life. Items could include a new car, a new house, a new boyfriend or girlfriend, and more money, etc. (There is no limit to what you can put on your vision board.) The pictures can come from anywhere such as magazines, computer printouts, newspapers, and so forth.

2)      Place the vision board in an area where you’ll see it throughout the day.  There are digital vision boards as well that you can purchase for your computer at work. They are easy to make and let you include sound as well.

3)      Look at each picture on your vision board at least daily, and daydream about having that thing in this present moment.  Allow yourself to be fully engaged in the daydream, and have fun with it.
